We would like to welcome you to Priory CE Academy – a school full of love, laughter and a menagerie of pets.  

We believe that all children have the right to learn and achieve in a safe, caring environment and that it is everybody’s collective responsibility to respect this right. Our close relationship with Reverend Shaun and our local church supports our distinctively Christian vision and values-based ethos of love and respect – we value every single member of #TeamPriory and know that, working with God, to be the best that we can be, every member of our learning community can flourish.  

Our children are happy and enjoy coming to school because it is a safe and exciting place to be. They take part in creative and inspiring learning activities that help them to remember key knowledge and developing them as lifelong learners. The challenge curriculum, which is question-based, sparks curiosity and problem-solving skills which are crucial skills for citizens of the future, in a world of work, which is as of yet, unknown to us. 

Pupil voice is an integral part of day-to-day learning at Priory, our children have the opportunity to shape our ever-developing school by being elected into multiple pupil groups. These groups support and enrich our community by raising funds and raising awareness of Local, National and Global issues and causes.

Our committed and experienced staff team work TOGETHER with our wonderful pupils, our community and of course, our animals, to ensure that everyone is the best that they can be and that their time at our school has a positive and lasting impact on the rest of their lives.

Dear Families,

Welcome to Priory CE Academy. Our school is a friendly school that is always up for a challenge. The pupils at Priory always have a voice and a say towards school decisions. We have the following groups:

• Courageous Advocates: Advocates of Vision, Advocates of Rights, Advocates of Wellbeing, Advocates of Earth, and Senior Advocates
• Priory PALS
• Sports Leaders

We are a Christian school. We worship and pray every day and we have prayer and reflection areas. Our local Reverend comes in each week to lead worship and to teach us about the importance of God. We welcome everyone from across the globe regardless of belief or faith.

Behaviour is excellent and we have strong anti-bullying systems. We have a lovely team of staff who are always here to help. We trust them to help us with any problems-big or small. We also help each other as we are Priory PALS. We are a Rights Respecting School and we think of others before ourselves. We have class charters that agree the way we should behave. We believe in rights rather than rules, our rights are:

• to be safe and healthy
• to take part in activities, play and rest
• to any special care and support
• to make important decisions
• to develop our personality and talents

We have ‘BAD’ learning which stands for basic, advancing and deep and your child can choose their own level. We learn about British values which are democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, mutual respect and tolerance of faiths and beliefs. We have outdoor residential trips such as Standon Bowers in year 6. There are many different clubs at Priory, for all different year groups, such as art, yoga, gymnastics, photography, football and netball.

We have many facilities such as two halls and a sports hall. Pupils have a new and exciting playground with play equipment that we chose. Everyone has access to a wide range of ICT such as iPads and interactive whiteboards.

We have a number of animals including cockatiels, geckos, a tortoise, a snake, ducks, and axolotls. We also have two school dogs: Bruce the Boston Terrier and Genie the French Bulldog.

We all strive to be the best that we can be and we hope you choose to join us.

The school day starts at 08:50 and doors open at 08:45. Home time is at 15:10 for children in Early Years and Key Stage 1 and 15:15 for Key Stage 2.

Wraparound care is available at Priory All Stars from 07:30 to 18:00, during term time.
