Last term, we made a great start in raising awareness about climate change and sustainability.

We:

  • appointed Advocates of Earth
  • took part in the Pupil Parliament with St Bart’s MAT
  • joined the National Education Nature Park
  • took part in the Hidden Nature Challenge
  • signed up for ECO Schools
  • registered with Let’s Go Zero
  • took steps to reduce our energy consumption
  • installed a clothing bank
  • were awarded a Local Schools Nature Grant

In addition to the above, Miss Bache achieved a Forest Schools qualification, and number of staff took part in biodiversity training, to help children learn outdoors.

This term, we will continue working together with ‘St Bart’s MAT Sustainability Network’ to address school’s impact on the environment through climate education about:

  • carbon emissions and energy efficiency
  • biodiversity
  • sustainability

St Bart’s MAT Sustainability Lead, Julie Rowlandson, will be joining us to deliver a worship about sustainability to the whole school.

We will also be taking part in the RSPB Big School’s Bird Watch and have started an after-school Gardening Club. Our keen gardeners will be growing flowers, vegetables and herbs to improve the biodiversity across the site.
