Welcome to the Local Governing Committee (LGC) web page.

Purpose of the Committee

The LGC is responsible for the conduct of the school and for promoting high standards.  The key aim is to ensure that children are attending a successful school, which provides them with a good education and supports their well-being.  

Strategic Functions of the LGC

Supporting the strategic direction by:

  • Ensuring clarity of vision, values, and objectives for the school
  • Meeting statutory duties

Ensuring accountability, by:

  • Monitoring the educational performance of the school and progress towards agreed targets
  • Engaging with stakeholders

Overseeing financial performance, by:

  • Monitoring spending of Pupil Premium and PE and Sports funding
  • Ensuring money is well spent and value for money is obtained
  • Ensuring risks to the organisation are managed

Membership

The LGC seeks to represent its key stakeholders and its membership is drawn from parents, staff, representatives of the diocese, and co-opted members who are deemed to have the necessary skills and experience as identified by the Governors.
